An Ode to Coffee

Coffee.
Have you ever wondered about the story behind it?

The ubiquitous legend of this beverage began before the 15th century when a goat herder named Kaldi first discovered the potential of these beloved beans in the coffee forests of Ethiopia. The story goes that Kaldi discovered coffee after he noticed how energetic his goats became after eating the berries from a certain tree. A drink was made at a local monastery, and soon word spread to the Arabian peninsula, where its journey would continue bringing these beans to the far reaches of the globe.

Energy.
The story of coffee is rooted in energy—the ardor and sprightliness it provides our lives. A mere bean, grown from the earth, with the power to lift the human spirit to the heavens—all while energizing the body and mind.

Aroma.
The smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning is what awakens so many lives. Close your eyes for a moment and imagine yourself savoring its heart-warming bouquet—whiff. Even those who do not drink coffee dare not forsake the olfactory delight of freshly ground beans and the portal to the very heart of nature they provide the human soul.

Personal.
Coffee is a space unto itself. An experience best shared alone with one’s thoughts or a spirited conversation with others. Having a cup of coffee is personal time well spent. Time ceases to exist for just that sip—coffee time. A bitter taste that holds life’s sweetest moments.

Natural.
Designed by Mother Nature herself using her finest ingredients: beans grown from her land, water from her streams, fire to roast and boil, and air for the aroma to waft upon. Tastefully simple and more profound and pervasive than an Apple—fruit or technology.

Companion.
For an author, coffee is an ever-present companion. It is prose power.

Every human on this planet is an author, creating their own story, whether recorded or not. Perhaps those that drink coffee are more apt to write it down.

Perhaps.
The one thing that connects us all is that we love a good story.
A good story and a cup of coffee.
Perfect in every way.
(Sip.)
Ah… sorry, I just lost track of time.
Oh yeah, coffee.
Powering the story of our lives.
